Staging for the Holidays, Staging to Sell in Seattle

One question I am always asked is “to holiday stage or not to holiday stage” , I will be talking about that a bit on my radio show tomorrow morning at 8 AM on 1150 AM radio.  The short answer is a little bit of holiday sparkle and glitz will help buyers to imagine their holiday memories and family traditions in their new home! Of course just like anything else when presenting a home for market “less is more” and you don’t want to get carried away especially if the home is obviously vacant.  Just a glass bowl filled with sparkly ornaments or a cookbook open to a festive holiday cookie recipe next to a rolling pin will be enough to help the buyer see themselves baking and entertaining in their beautiful new home.

I have also used elegant red candles with a touch of sparkle, and an evergreen artfully touched with holly berry’s to bring a festive feel into staged homes.  These subtle touches suggest a holiday feel without being over the top.  After the holidays are over, if the home hasn’t sold it’s easy to replace the sparkly red candles with white and the holiday evergreen with an alternate silk plant.
